The 9th edition of Commward honored country’s best creative works through a grand award gala on 3rd August. This year, 3 Grand Prix, 15 Gold, 27 Silver & 36 Bronze Awards were honored in 23 categories. Commward: Excellence in Creative Communication is the flagship initiative of Bangladesh Brand Forum. Commward, also known as Communication Award, is the only accolade for recognizing the creative works of Bangladesh – appearing as the biggest local platform for the creative industries in Bangladesh.

Speaking at the occasion, Nazia Andaleeb Preema, Visual Artist & Performer, Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum and President of Women In Leadership (WIL) said, “In this digital era, our advertising industry has to be redefined along with the traditional communication and creatives for creating the connection. It’s very crucial that our creative industry should have smart approach and be aligned with the community as well.  Moreover, strict selection process and firm identification are very crucial for going to the next level of creativity.”

A total of 659 entries were submitted for this year’s Commward. Across 23 categories, the awards were given in four ranks – Grand Prix, Gold, Silver & Bronze. Bronze has been introduced as the newest rank of this year’s Commward. A total of 3 Grand Prix, 15 Gold, 27 Silver & 36 Bronze Awards were given to the best creative works of Bangladesh. Also, a special recognition was given to Grey Bangladesh for Transceding the Creative Communication of Bangladesh to a Global Stature.

This year, the 9th edition was set to be a precedent for a more rigorous and demanding form of Commward. For initiating a creative momentum across the nation, the 9th Commward, along with introducing newer and more challenging categories, has also introduced a more rigorous jury system and selection process. Commward this year had Tay Guan Hin, Founder/Chief Creative Officer, TGH Collective and Creative Change Catalyst, APAC Global Advisory, as the first-ever Jury President. This ensured that Commward entries were evaluated to the most meticulous global standards possible.

A daylong communication summit also took place on the occasion. With the theme ‘Creative Leap in the Age of Disruption’, the summit brought together renowned global and local experts including creative professionals from diverse sectors to share knowledge. This year, the summit comprised of three keynote sessions, three panel discussions, one interaction/intervention, three local insights, and three global insights.
