DCCI Presents Bangladesh YouthFest Concludes with 7 Winning Teams

After months of conducting ideation competitions along with knowledge sessions & showcasing across seven divisions of the country, DCCI presents Bangladesh YouthFest concluded its first season with a Grand Finale and two-day festival held on 13 & 14 of May 2016 at North South University. 7 teams emerged as winners from among the 42 regional winners competing in the Grand Finale round. The winning teams from the grand finale will attend in Spikes Asia 2016 in Singapore, the largest festival of creativity in Asia. The festival was powered by Symphony.

The grand finale and gala round in Dhaka also organized a number of interactive knowledge and entertainment sessions. The Chief Guest of the festival was Mr. Nasrul Hamid Bipu, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Lecture Series was designed to share insightful learning from real-life experiences of over 40 experts of the country, ranging from academicians to CEOs. An exclusive ‘Career Talk’ session was conducted by 15 most sought-after companies for jobs, respectively. This interactive session answered many queries of the participating students as well as guided them to land with the right job. Under the banner of ‘Innovation Hub’, a number of exciting programs were held to engage the visiting youths. Among them are startups’ showcasing, exclusive Cannes Lions Seminar 2015, conceptual art development by students of Institute of Fine Arts & North South University, innovation showcasing based on technology projects developed by students, showcasing on tiger conservation  by WildTeam and water challenges in Bangladesh by IFC, gaming corner by Grameenphone, etc.

Bangladesh YouthFest was also graced by popular media celebrities like Nafisa Kamal Jhumur, Limon, Shafin Ahmed, Tahsan, Singer Mehreen, etc. who carried out live performances and interactive sessions with the audience.

This initiative was presented by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), powered by Symphony, co-sponsored by Sajeeb Group, supported by Dhaka Bank, City Bank, SSG, Partex Star Group, and Shift, Digital Partner Grameenphone, Official Partner US Bangla Airlines, Digital Analytics Partner Light Castle Partners, In Association with Prothom Alo and Chakri.com, Shout as the Youth Partner, Strategic Partner IBA Alumni Association and SD Asia, Learning Partner North South University, Media Partner GTV, PR Partner MastHead PR, Social Media Partner WebAble.

The winning teams of Youth Fest 2016:

In the Social Issue category, the winning team was Aqua Maize CK, which consisted of Mohammed Shahriar Sharif and Syed Sameem Shahriyar, from IBA, University of Dhaka.

In the Technology New Product category, the winning team was EDRU Masterminds, which consisted of Md. Ashiqur Rahman and Muyeed Bin Mizan, from Rajshahi University.

In the Technology Fresh Idea category, the winning team was Green Power, which consisted of Golam Rabbani and Mehejabin Mostafa, from University of Barisal.

In the Entrepreneurship Idea- Tech Based category, the winning team was Steady Future, which consisted of Md Emrul Ahsan Mehedi and Shakiluzzaman Shamim, from Rajshahi University.

In the Any Entrepreneurship Idea category, the winning team was Servicing Campus, which consisted of Abu Sayed and Md. Al-Amin Islam, from Begum Rokeya University.

In the Women Entrepreneurship Idea category, the winning team was Sopno, which consisted of Marjina Masud and Sharmin Jahan, also from Begum Rokeya University.

In the Paper Presentation category, the winning team was The Natives, which consisted of Md. Mukit Murshed and Zarif Tazwar, from Bangladesh University of Professionals.
