Dhaka University Marketing Club Hosts ‘Exploration With Experts’

Solution is not what attracts today’s youth; they are much more interested to align their knowledge and passion and pursue their dreams for a brighter future. However, the transition from having a career dream to shaping it into a reality is that not easy. Often, the youth faces questions that needs to be answered. To bridge this gap, Dhaka University Marketing Club (DUMARC) has arranged their skill development program ‘Exploration With Experts’. Under this programme, renowned personalities from different industries will be present as guests speakers, doing their bit to share their obstacles, experiences and success stories that they have encountered on their own professional journeys .

After three days of registration, with more than 150 students ready to be inspired, the program commenced on November 21, 2015 with ‘Mastering the Art of Social Media Marketing’ session. The expert for the session was the co-founder of WebAble Digital – a leading digital marketing & social media agency in Bangladesh – Ovick Alam. Ovick received “Asia’s Most Influential Digital Media Professional” award from World Brand Congress at CMO Asia Awards 2015 in Singapore.

In the session, Ovick gave the students a clear concept of what Social Media Marketing is and what is its future. He then provided the eager students with numerous resources that can come to their aid. Additionally, he urged the students to read particular books while mentioning some of his most favorite ones. Furthermore, Ovick shared his view on life and career, focusing on how he has reached to where he is today. Ovick, with his interactive approach made the session fun and informative at the same time. Before concluding the session with a question-answer segment, there was a gaming segment, that the audience thoroughly enjoyed.

‘Skill Factory – Exploration with Experts’ will resume from next January with guests like the Recruitment and Learning Manager of Unilever Bangladesh Ms. Israt Jahan, Supply Chain Professional Fahad Mahmud, Senior Research Executive of Millward Brown Mr. Rifat Bin Salam and others. Each session will be based on myriad variety of topics, conducted by experts of the respective fields. Dhaka University Marketing Club hopes for the participation of more guest speakers in the future, who will share their wisdom with the today’s youth.
