Seminar on Social Entrepreneurship for Engineers by ULAB

The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB)  organized a seminar on “Social Entrepreneurship for Engineers” on December 13, 2015. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Arif Md. Waliullah Bhuiyan, CEO & Founder, Light of Hope. He was one of the nominated 8 most potential social entrepreneurs in 2015.

In the talk Mr. Waliullah initially provided an brief introduction to Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship to the audience. Then he described how and why the Engineers should contribute to the society through Social entrepreneurship. He provided few great examples of engineers becoming entrepreneurs and solving social problems from home and abroad. He also shared his experience of 3 week accelerator programme jointly organized by US Embassy and Jolkona in Seattle, USA in November 2015. Finally, he described how he  started his journey with Light of Hope, the challenges he faced and current and future projects of Light of Hope. He also showed his interest to hire few volunteers and Interns from ULAB for their upcoming projects.

Assistant professor Dr. Mohammad Anisuzzaman, Mr. Rabiul Islam Jony, Lecturer & Course Coordinator, and M.T. Hasan Amin, Lecturer, ETE department along with students and other faculties of ULAB were present in the seminar.

A question-answer session was held with the participation of faculties, students and guests with the speaker in a cordial atmosphere.

At the end of the seminar Mr. Rabiul Islam Jony extended his sincere thank and congratulation to the speaker for his excellent and inspiring presentation.
