COMMWARD is an initiative by the Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) for the tenth time to recognize and reward the efforts of local creative agencies in the industry. The sole aim of COMMWARD is to recognize the excellence and effectiveness of the creative communication that takes place in different media to reach out to consumers and more importantly achieve the desired result.  The key objective for this initiative is to establish the link between creative communication activity and meeting the international standard along with its goals.
Creativity and the art of storytelling remains profoundly the same in their essence of captivating and aligning the hearts and minds of consumers with the brand in question. It is only the means through which we can better connect those changes.
In the ever-changing landscape that we are in, creative communication should resonate with the audience to the core. ‘Commward: Excellence in Creative Communication’ is a platform that drives creativity, inspires innovation. This year, in its 10th edition, Commward comes back bolder in its approach to shine a light on the creative communications that represent Bangladeshi perfection.

COMMWARD 2021 CATEGORIES

Art Direction

The direction in campaigns should add aesthetic value and clarity to an advertising idea which makes the communication stand out, through exceptional conceptualization. The campaigns should make an affluent transition of concepts into visual executions through art direction.

Best Campaign By New Agency

Campaigns by agencies that have been operating for less than three years are eligible for this category. Any medium used to run the campaign is applicable, provided that the campaign has insight, strategy, and planning enabling the brand to effectively reach consumers.

Best COVID-19 Response Campaign

In such an unprecedented emergency, the need to strike a balance between purpose and profit has never been clearer, campaigns showcasing corporate values in their innovative responses to the coronavirus crisis are eligible for the category. An award to recognize ideas and creative solutions that demonstrate resilience and resolve in the face of the Covid-19 global pandemic. It will be awarded to the works that rise above the crisis to create public, economic, cultural, and/or other ideas for the greater good.

Best Media Innovation

Awarded to the campaign that demonstrates the most innovative use of media to achieve consumer engagement, deliver marketing objectives, and generate business growth. The marketing strategy could be executed through new media or traditional forms of communications.

Best Use of Branded Content

Entries will need to demonstrate an inspiring and innovative implementation of ideas. That is, work that is enhanced and amplified by a game-changing strategy (Any Brand–created Content like dedicated Film / TV shows, Serials, Audio / Video episodes, Apps, etc.) to reach out to audiences to establish meaningful relationships, memorable, engaging experiences, and unique connections with their brands.

Best Use of Digital Media

Entries will need to demonstrate an idea indigenous to, or enhanced by the digital environment; that is work originating from online platforms and innovatively utilizing associated technologies to deliver a brand message. The entries must have a flawless design, masterful execution, and outstanding user experience created for all digital environments.

Brand Experience & Promotion

This category recognizes work that reaches out to business audiences to establish meaningful relationships, memorable, engaging experiences, and unique connections with their brands. and met the business objectives of the brand. Campaigns that have all brand-building through the dimension of experience design, activation, immersive, retail, and wholistic consumer engagement. Entries should demonstrate how the consumer journey, the experience of the brand, and optimization of every touchpoint led to increased brand affinity and commercial success.

Campaign For Women

A women-centric campaign that has gained success through creating awareness, perception, realization, or created a social change. The campaigns’ effectiveness must be demonstrated by the number of people reached, the impact, and changes of behavior in demography.

Copywriting

The award in this category will be presented to thought-provoking copywriting for brands or campaigns. This category is open to working across multiple platforms.

Efficacy

A campaign that might not be rich in aesthetic measures, but brought favorable outcomes for the client and has proved to be a result-driven campaign is to be nominated under this category. This category celebrates commercial effectiveness and the techniques used to impact branded communications.

Film

This award category will honor extraordinary campaign videos, TVCs, AVs, internet films broadcasted under any medium.

Film Craft

Entries will need to demonstrate exceptional filmmaking. This category will honor works in which technical skill and prowess in production, dramatically enhances its execution. The film craft includes submission of direction, script, casting, production design/art direction, cinematography, editing, use of original music, use of licensed or adapted music, sound design, animation, visual effects, and innovation in production.

Green Campaign

Campaigns that promote a green environment and ecological sustainability with the unique power to truly change lives are to be nominated under this category.

Integrated Campaign

A campaign demonstrating innovation, excellence in promoting, advertising, communicating, or marketing a brand, product, or service - becomes eligible for entry in this category. The integrated campaign’s effectiveness must be demonstrated in meeting the campaign’s KPI as well. Entered campaigns in this category must include 3 or more media platforms.

Most Creative Use of Media

There are several ways that the media can be used “creatively” – working and creating entirely new channels, uniquely using the already existing media, or delving into the most common and most innovative approach, combining different channels and formats to get the perfect mix in qualitative and quantitative terms. Campaigns that have dealt in using creativity in the high risen media landscape while ensuring creative approaches will be awarded in this category.

Most Effective Use of Media

Effective media establishes a need and promotes those existing mediums to effectively reach the audience. On a media landscape, agencies/organizations have used existing channels efficiently and effectively. Campaigns that have effective advertising in the media space while ensuring proper results in reaching their audiences and also ensuring the concept of strategy.

Music / Jingle

This category enables music/jingle that has created TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness), celebrating creativity that goes beyond branded communication, to create authentic entertainment that engages consumers and impacts culture.

Native

This is an award unique to Commward that is awarded to works that embody local values whether in terms of culture, religion, beliefs, traditions, or language. It recognizes works that preserve and celebrate the rich heritage and value of each local culture.

Outdoor

Entries will need to demonstrate exceptional form and function in Outdoor context; work with flawless design, masterful artistry and outstanding execution which will provide valuable, relevant, creative and consistent content of the brand in open spaces.

Packaging

Brands having unique and distinct packaging based on special occasions, festivals or for product promotion that have reached maximum consumer attention are applicable in this category.

PR

This award is to be presented to the agencies that have created breakthrough Public Relation for the brands/ clients where the PR campaigns have been used as an integral and original part of the whole brand communication.

Print

Entries will need to demonstrate ideas that leap off the page. Work that exhibits ingenuity and outstanding craftsmanship in published media. Criteria considered during judging will predominantly be the idea and the execution.

Radio

This award tributes outstanding Radio Commercials. Entries in this category should project their effective and innovative strategies implemented in radio content.

Rural Marketing

Campaigns which have achieved positive customer reactions through activations or advertisements that have revamped the brand’s position in the rural market are eligible for entry. Campaigns will be judged based on their idea, concept, and fruitful execution.

Small Budget Media Campaign

Awarded to the campaigns that achieved its marketing and business objectives while adhering to limited production and a media budget of under BDT 300,000.

Social Campaign

A campaign that has gained success through generating social awareness, promoting sustainability in society is eligible for this category. The campaign’s effectiveness must be demonstrated in meeting the campaign's KPI.

Nomination Rules

  1. Each participating agency/organization can nominate as many entries in as many categories as they prefer.
  2. Each entry/campaign can be nominated in more than one category; in which case, the same campaign in an additional category will be treated as an additional entry and charged accordingly.
  3. All entries for Commward 2021 must be submitted through the Online Platform. Organizations will have to fill all the necessary fields in the mentioned form with adequate information. Please attach all the necessary content materials in google drive and share the link in the online form. The google drive link must include the following:
    1. A PowerPoint Presentation based on a given template
    2. Supporting Images of the campaign (Maximum 5 High-Resolution Images)
    3. Case AV of the Specific Campaign (based on the context of submission)
    4. Campaign AV (Brand/product/service-based Audio Visuals)
    5. No Objection Certificate (NOC) (Must be signed/sealed by the owner of the campaign/ project)
    6. The results mentioned should have definite proof (screenshots of paid and organic reach, impressions, clicks, etc.)
  4. Each entry must be submitted in the following manner (as applicable):
    • No need to share any hard copy of the document unless required or asked for.
    • Campaign story using the nomination form.
    • Supporting image in .png, or .jpeg format with a maximum size of 15 MB.
    • High resolution audio-visual and digital content in .avi, .wmv, .mp4.
    • Please share the original campaign links. For instance, if the entry is a website, the site address must be shared in the presentation.
    • Each entry may be accompanied by a brief power-point presentation of the campaign. Word limits will be strictly followed.
    • An audio-visual (Not more than 3 minutes) on the campaign should be shared along with the required materials. A case AV helps the jury understand and evaluate the campaign better.
    • Screenshots of specific results should also be submitted for a better understanding of the success of the campaign.
  5. ONLY the campaigns launched and run during the period from May 01, 2019, to May 31, 2021, are applicable for Commward 2021.
  6. Agencies must confirm “no objection” from the concerned client for the respective campaign before submitting.
  7. All results of submitted campaigns must be verified through a NOC from the client end; other supporting reports & documents of the campaign result must be submitted along with the campaign.
  8. Clients and agencies cannot nominate the same campaign in the same category. But may nominate the same campaign in different categories.
    1. Once submitted, an entry cannot be withdrawn.
    2. Any incomplete nomination form will be disqualified.
    3. Please submit your entries by no later than 10th July, 2021.
    4. Submission Fees of BDT 12,000+ 15% VAT (for each entry) shall be paid along with each entry with an A/C payee cheque in favor of “Brandzeal” at Bangladesh Brand Forum office/ if the organization wishes to make the payments online, the necessary system is already developed and incorporate in our online platform.
    5. In case of any confusion regarding any category/details of the Commward, please contact the organizer.
    6. An entry may be disqualified by the Commward authority if any of the above guidelines are not followed.
    7. Each entry will be evaluated by the judges on the following criteria: Strategy, Creativity & Results.
    8. Decisions taken by the Jury Panels in the evaluation process will be regarded as final.
