The First Ever Loyalty Program in Footwear Sector of Bangladesh
Recently Bata Bangladesh launched the Bata Club, the country’s first ever loyalty program in the footwear sector. The club is encouraging customers to make repeat purchases and has the potential to turn passerby customers into loyal advocates.
In the race to win the hearts of loyal customers, Bata Bangladesh introduced 50 bonus points to give customers a head start when they register. Every time customers purchase new products, 1 percent of the total amount will be converted to points. To keep interest high with regular “finish lines,” customers can redeem their points right at checkout in multiples of 50.
Everybody loves to be treated as special, so as extra incentive, the benefits of this program include birthday and anniversary surprises as well as special offers for holidays like Eid, Christmas and New Year’s.
“Bata Club is a wonderful loyalty program,” said new Bata Club member Kiswar Jahan. “I love to get points every time I make a purchase. I am waiting for the treats and surprises that come along the way.”
Chitpan Kanhasiri, company manager of Bata Bangladesh, is also positive about the program. “I believe this loyalty program should be considered as a sales generator and, therefore, we decided to drive it strategically. We will add additional functionality over time as our customers grow accustomed to the Bata Club.”
This loyalty program simply uses customers’ mobile numbers as their membership identification.
