The Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation (D2A2I) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is dedicated to promoting innovation among young researchers, fostering high-quality research aligned with sustainable development goals (SDGs). In furtherance of this mission, the Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation has provided funding to the Amateur Experimental Rocketry Dhaka (AERD) for conducting research activities, thereby contributing to the betterment of the wider community. The official signing ceremony for this collaboration took place at the AIUB premises on August 7, 2023.

Present at the signing ceremony were key individuals including Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor of AIUB; Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Associate Professor at AIUB; Mr. Szu Hen Baldwin Chen, Principal Investigator of AERD; Mr. Shahzaib Muaz Abedin, Member of AERD; Mr. Liam Oliver Novak, Member of AERD; Mr. Zhaoyan Sam Cui, Member of AERD; and Mr. Ian Michael Meservy, Member of AERD.

AERD is a research group led by high-school students, focusing on the advancement of hybrid rocket engine technology. This collaborative agreement is poised to inspire and empower young researchers to contribute to the nation’s progress through innovative ideas, aligning with AIUB’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and research excellence.
