Cartoon Network Enterprises Hosts a Client Get-together in Westin, Dhaka

Enroute on the Verge of Signing Some New Licensing Deal

Enroute International Limited, authorized representative of Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) and Warner Brothers (WB) in Bangladesh arranged a discussion program over dinner with recently signed licensees. Enroute have been working as an authorized agent of Turner Broadcasting and Warner Bros franchises for Bangladesh market since 2012.

The program was mainly an interactive session, with a focus to get in touch with existing clients like Bengal Polymer, Bata Bangladesh and Perfetti Van Melle, Bangladesh to understand their side of expectations in Bangladesh context and bring in potentials clients and IP professionals representing different regulation bodies were present in the program.

In the program Mr. Abu Daud Khan, MD & CEO, Enroute International Limited said, “We knew all through that Character Licensing is such a fresh and potential prospect that local and multinational companies could capitalize on and enhance their communication mix. We pleasantly noticed that our expectation and reality did not have much of alteration. We were able to establish and maintain business relationships with some of the renowned corporate firms despite of some obvious infringement challenges. Moving ahead, Enroute as an agent of Turner in Bangladesh has extensive plans to establish an efficient legal body to regulate the market against pirated use of IP.”

Mr. Anand Singh, Marketing Director ( South Asian Region ), Turner Broadcasting Asia Pacific. said, “The market of Intellectual Property is growing gradually in Bangladesh. Past two years in business, we have already achieved a steady growth, which is the evidence of existence of responsible companies in Bangladesh. Now, we are more focused on our client’s growth and strengthening our support functions to help them grow with our franchises.”

Perfetti Van Melle, Bangladesh, Bata Bangladesh and Bengal Polymer Wares Ltd. signed deals for one year, two years and two and half years with Turner to use characters from the Cartoon Network and Warner Brothers portfolio to carry forward promotional campaigns, manufacturing shoes and plastic products using cartoon characters as a design.

The evening was graced by the presence of Mr. Jashim Uddin, Vice Chairman, Bengal Polymer Wares Ltd., Bangladesh, Mr. Chiptan Kanhasiri, Managing Director of Bata Bangladesh, Mr. Sin Kee Lee, Retail Manager, Bata Bangladesh, Mr. Anand Singh, Marketing Director (South Asian Region), Turner Broadcasting, India, Mr. Abu Daud Khan, MD & CEO, Enroute International Limited and Md. Azizur Rahman FCS, Director General, Intellectual Property Association Bangladesh along with professionals from different corporate houses were present in the program.
