The Power of Brands to Lead Positive Change

Brands today are more than just businesses; they are powerful forces for positive change in society. Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, organizations can address key social and environmental challenges, making a real difference in the communities they serve. These initiatives go beyond simply making profits—they focus on improving the well-being of people and the planet.
Consumers today care more about the values of the brands they support. CSR allows businesses to connect with customers by addressing important issues like the environment, social fairness, and public health. These efforts show that a company is committed to doing the right thing and can inspire others to do the same. By focusing on social responsibility, companies can lead by example and prove that doing good and being successful can go hand in hand.

A great example of this is Lizol’s highly successful Ramadan campaign, “Porichhonotai Pobitrota,” which the brand has brought back for the third consecutive year. Every year during Ramadan, Lizol, the popular disinfectant floor and surface cleaner brand by Reckitt Benckiser, embarks on a month-long initiative to clean 100 mosques across Bangladesh. This year’s campaign kicked off from the esteemed Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and spanned all 7 divisions of the country. Lizol’s dedicated team, in collaboration with local community members, volunteers, and religious leaders, worked to clean 10 mosques per division, along with 30 mosques within Dhaka city.

This Ramadan, Lizol once again demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on communities across Bangladesh. The team’s efforts were especially important during Ramadan when mosques are filled with worshippers for prayers, Iftar, and Sehri, making cleanliness a top priority. By focusing on public spaces like mosques, Lizol helped improve hygiene and create a healthier environment for everyone.
During this time, cleanliness became even more important, and the Porichhonotai Pobitrota campaign focused not only on keeping religious spaces clean but also on spreading the message of cleanliness throughout the community. The message on the campaign boards reminded everyone that the true essence of Ramadan is about cleaning and purifying our hearts. When we focus on this inner purity, we can reduce wrongdoing in society and create a better, more peaceful world. This campaign encouraged people to reflect on their actions and bring about positive change in their lives and communities.

In addition to the cleaning efforts, Lizol provided each mosque with a one-year supply of floor cleaning solutions, Ramadan calendar boards, and hygiene kits to support ongoing hygiene maintenance even after Ramadan. This reflects Lizol’s commitment to both the immediate and long-term well-being of the community.

When companies invest in their communities, they build stronger relationships with consumers, create positive change, and help make the world a better place. By focusing on areas like health, hygiene, and sustainability, brands can meet their ethical responsibilities while also enhancing their image and fostering goodwill.
