Bishwajit Roy, Executive Director, Retail Operations & Marketing of YELLOW will lead Bangladesh Retail Congress as the Master of the Ceremony. Bangladesh Retail Congress, the first summit on retail industry of the country, will be held on 6th of February at Le Meridien hotel, Dhaka. Experienced for over 17 years, Mr. Roy happens to be one of the most happening leaders in the retail sector of Bangladesh.
Mr. Roy has a diverse career with multi industry experience of Advertising, FMCG, and footwear and fashion retail in both large local conglomerates and globally reputed international companies in key leadership roles with strong success track record. Within just 16 years of career he managed to reach General Management position in a multinational company like Bata with international assignments. He holds expertise of launching new successful categories and companies, driving aggressive and sustainable expansion, and building strong teams by creating an environment of attracting and nurturing talents at different sectors of work.
With the proven track record of handling large teams, he has the unique experience of working as the key person in retail re-structuring project in Bata in Sri Lanka and Kenya &Uganda, a rare feat for Bangladeshi professionals. He is currently handling the overall P&L of YELLOW. He has gained success of running on 86% growth against last year, launching the largest fashion retail store of the country with 24,000 SFT floor space in Dhanmondi area, which is now the flagship store of YELLOW chain.
He has also led benchmarking exercise with the architects and interior designers against different fashion retails in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India and executed the new store format for YELLOW which has now been proven as a major success factor. Along with these, he executed strategic contracts with leading fashion brands in the region to increase the brand value of YELLOW as fashion retail and drive higher footfall.
