Bangladesh Brand Forum has successfully completed the fourth edition of Digital Marketing Summit 2017 today. Presented by Meghna Group of Industries, Digital Marketing Summit 2017 engaged the local digital marketing fraternity with four global experts, and shaped a knowledge sharing dais through various other segments. The theme for this year’s summit was ‘Strategy into Action’. Powered by Wizards Ad Networks and organized in association with The Daily Star, the daylong summit was held at Le Meridien Hotel, Dhaka.
Incepted in 2014, Digital Marketing Summit has been a central platform for marketing enthusiasts, advertising experts, and creative professionals, where they learn and share the best and latest digital marketing practices. This year’s summit was designed with four keynote sessions, three panel discussions, five breakout sessions, three case study presentations, and two insight sessions. The summit also observed the official launching of Wizards Ad Networks that has been operating as a beta for last one year.
The esteemed keynote speakers were – Zaved Akhter, Director – Marketing Transformation at Unilever, South Asia; Farhan Qureshi, Head of South Asian Frontier Markets at Google; Sanjay Vaghasia, Chief Digital Officer at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd.; and Dan Clarke, CEO & Founder, disruptient.
Three panel discussions were held comprising of 14 local industry stakeholders as panelists. The first panel discussion focused on the topic – ‘Building the next digital marketing campaign – The Perfect Recipe’. Panelists for this panel were – Ashraful Haque, Vice President, Robi Axiata Limited ; Hashmi Rafsanjani, Country Marketing Manager, Google; Drabir Alam, COO & Director, the “X”, Aman Ashraf Faiz, Managing Director, Gazi TV ; Sabbir Rahman Tamim, Chairman, Cubex Limited.
The second panel discussion focused on – ‘Are we using mobile advertising effectively?’ Panelists for this discussion were – Nazmul Karim Chowdhury, Senior VP & Head of Brand, The City Bank; Riyad Shahir Ahmed Husain, CEO & Managing Director, Magnito Digital; Mukit Ahmed, Head of e-Marketing, Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd; Sanjid Hossain, General Manager, Digital Advertising, Digital Services, Robi Axiata Limited; Kaymun Amin, Managing Director and CEO, Adplay Technology Limited.
The third panel discussion talked about – ‘Creating content that delivers result’. Panelists were – Md. Azim Hossain, Head of Digital Media, Pran-RFL Group; Shourav Islam, CEO & Founder, Unifox Digital Media; Asif Iqbal, Executive Director, Marketing, Meghna Group of Industries; Ridwan Hafiz, People’s Champ, Analyzen BD.
Three case studies were presented by Pickaboo.com, Wizards Ad Networks, A2i, and respectively.
Two insight sessions were taken by Asif Iqbal, Executive Director of Marketing, Meghna Group of Industries and Ayman Sadiq, Founder of 10 Minute School. These insight sessions focused on the topics, respectively – ‘Why music can be the next platform for brands?’ and ‘Digital marketing hacks without the technicality and boosting’.
Furthermore, there were five breakout sessions that engaged smaller groups of audience with more in-depth learning and discussion. The hosts for these breakout sessions were – Women in Leadership, Bangladesh Creative Forum, Access to Information (A2i), Wizards Ad Networks, and The Daily Star. The breakout session by Women in Leadership, namely ‘Wonder of Technology for Women Leadership’ focused on how Digital Media and online platforms can be used to drive the core issue of women empowerment. The breakout session by Bangladesh Creative Forum, namely ‘Leveraging Creativity through Technology’ focused on ‘How creative professionals can use digital platforms to promote their skills and works’. Breakout session by The Daily Star focused on ‘Messenger Bots: The next media distribution platform’. Breakout session by A2i focused on ‘Taking 64 district stories to people’.
