Rebranding of a thought leader

BGMEA has recently renewed its vision of the future with a brand new identity as part of its mandate to be aligned with MDG and SDG goals to complement Bangladesh’s future-forward vision.  But how was this identity created? And who is behind the dots?

Mighty Byte, a creative consultancy agency, took a deep dive into who BGMEA truly is, its variegated roles, and its impact on both the national and global scale. Mighty Byte recognized that the apex trade body had evolved, and its logo essence had to capture and represent this multifaceted role in a cohesive and uniquely identifiable way.

Because BGMEA is a thought leader, a think tank, the face of brand Bangladesh, a leader in development, a facilitator of economic linkage, and an investor in partnerships, Mighty Byte realized the task was not just to create a ‘logo’ but reflect its multifaceted role, its composite identity and to keep in mind the ever-transformative nature of the world, the nation, the industry, and BGMEA itself. It needed to devise a simplistic interpretation of the innumerable complexities that this vision entailed.

These were the dots. Once connected, the Nine Dot identity was born. Building a story around BGMEA’s current priorities: People, Inclusivity, Transparency, Infrastructure, Innovation, Circularity, Global Network, Brand Bangladesh, and Environment with iconic motifs.

The micro stories and associated symbols Mighty Byte developed were arranged in the order of reach, transformation, and sustainability. From micro to macro, action to impact, and local to global – showcasing and encompassing all that BGMEA has come to represent.

That’s how Mighty Byte developed and created BGMEA’s “Nine Dot” identity. Which is as much a modern graphic identity as it is a story of the many stories woven into it.
