The first ever ‘Channel I Bangladesh Brand Forum Marketing Superstar Award’ was given to legendary marketer Syed Alamgir, Managing Director, ACI Consumer Brands Limited. The award gala was held on 28th March, at the Westin Hotel, Dhaka.
The award crest was handed over by Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Minister, Ministry of Industries, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Channel I. Besides, eminent individuals like Syed Ferhat Anwar, Director of IBA, Dhaka University; Shykh Seraj, Founder Director & Head of News, Channel I; Mehboob Chowdhury, Telecom Professional; Shariful Islam, Managing Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum presented special gown, cap, certificate and flower bouquet to Mr. Alamgir.
Though there are many recognitions for the contributions of businesses, there is no big recognition for the marketers who play great roles in taking the businesses to the consumers’ doors. Syed Alamgir started his career in 1976 in the then British pharmaceutical company May & Baker, which is now known as Sanofi Bangladesh. Throughout his career journey, Mr. Almagir has held major positions in several companies. He started working with ACI in 1998 and has established it as the top consumer goods manufacturing company in the last two decades. With his firm leadership, different products of ACI Consumer Brands have gained remarkable acceptance of the people from different walks of life. The concept of 100% halal soap, one of his innovations in the FMCG category, has amazed the great marketing professionals around the world. Philip Kotler, famous Professor of Marketing, has included a case study on the concept of halal soap in his ‘The Principles of Marketing’ book.
