On 11th August, 2015 senior officials from Apex Footwear Ltd. visited the Ma er Achol shelter in Mirpur, Dhaka – a shelter for the street children in the city, and donated 71 pairs of shoes to the children living in the shelter.
The shelter is run by one of the oldest active NGO’s – Street Children’s PARTNER’S BGD, to give the little new comers a safe home, food, health and hygiene, until they reach adulthood and are able to care for themselves. Rajan Pillai, COO of Apex Footwear Ltd was present at the occasion along with Nargis Akter Kakoli, Director of Ma er Achol Shelter.
Apart from donating the shoes, Apex Footwear Ltd. has also signed a contract of hiring sales people from the Ma er Achol Shelter. Already, 3 persons have been hired by Apex footwear Ltd. from the shelter to work as sales personnel at their outlets.
