The Department of Architecture, AIUB hosted a Freshers’ Reception on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Organized by senior students spanning from Studio III to Studio VII, this vibrant event took place at the Multipurpose Hall of Annex 7. Its primary purpose was to warmly welcome and engage fresher students from Studio I & Studio II (from Spring 2022-2023 to Summer 2022-2023). The coordination of this event was overseen by Ms. Nazifa Zabeen Siddiqua, Assistant Professor, and Rashed Hasan, Lecturer, both from the Department of Architecture.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the Head of the Department, M. Arefeen Ibrahim, alongside faculty members, current students, and alumni. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Associate Dean, and Associate Professor Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Director of the Faculty of Engineering.

The freshers were warmly welcomed by the senior students, who presented them with gifts and flowers. The evening’s atmosphere was set with a blend of rock and folk music, creating a pleasant ambiance. The highlight of the night was a side-splitting comedy play that humorously depicted undergraduate life and had the audience in fits of laughter. Students continued to captivate the audience with musical performances and lively group dances that showcased their talents. The reception concluded on a high note with a captivating performance by a band comprised of talented students-turned-alumni from the Architecture department.
