JET AIRWAYS CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF CONNECTING BANGLADESH WITH INDIA

Jet Airways, India’s premier, full-service international airline, today celebrated the completion of a decade of its operations in Bangladesh.

The milestone is especially significant, as Jet Airways was the first privately-owned Indian carrier to provide direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and India via its flight – 9W 274, Kolkata to Dhaka on December 16th, 2007. Today, the airline connects Bangladesh via daily flights with key Indian cities – Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.

Mr. Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways, said, “It is indeed a joyous and momentous occasion for us to celebrate 10 years of Jet Airways’ successful operations to Dhaka. Bangladesh is one of the fastest developing countries in South Asia and has rapidly gained popularity as both a business and tourist destination with travellers around the world. Air travel between Bangladesh and India has been growing at a steady pace and we’re happy that we have been able to further trade, tourism and people to people relationships between the two countries.

On the occasion of our 10th anniversary, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Government of Bangladesh, the Civil Aviation Authority, the entire travel-trade community and our guests for their unstinting support and patronage over the entire last decade. Today, we reiterate our commitment to providing our guests from Bangladesh an exceptional flying experience, characterized by Jet Airways’ trademark spirit of Indian hospitality, comfort and seamless connectivity.”

Jet Airways provides excellent non-stop as well as one-stop services connecting Bangladesh to its 64-city strong network across India, the Gulf, Far East and Europe, including London, Paris and Amsterdam. Together with its strategic partner – Etihad Airways as well as interline and codeshare relationships with leading global airlines such as Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Delta Air Lines etc., the airline offers an unbeatable connectivity proposition to guests in Bangladesh helping them connect to more than 450 destinations across the globe, via its hubs in Mumbai and Delhi as well as global gateways at Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, London and Paris.

Since the last decade, Jet Airways has pioneered many firsts in the history of Bangladesh aviation. The airline introduced ‘Jet Airways EBL Co-Brand Card’ for its JetPrivilege members for the first time in Bangladesh. The unique product gives value for money to guests while enabling a world-class travel experience on Jet Airways. Jet Airways was also the first airline to introduce ‘Pay @ Counter’ Options for guests, giving them added flexibility to book tickets on the airline’s website and make payments subsequently, through their local credit/debit cards at its Dhaka city office.

On an annualised basis, both passenger and cargo revenues have grown by more than 10%, which testifies to the strong and growing business, trade and cultural links between our two countries.

As part of its 10th Anniversary celebration, Jet Airways has announced an attractive 10-day fare offer that will allow guests from Bangladesh to book tickets at special prices to 10 select destinations in India and abroad served by the airline’s direct network. The ten destinations include Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Toronto. While guests can enjoy a flat 10 percent discount on prevailing fares from December 21st–30th, 2017, JetPrivilege members will gain significantly by earning double the miles for all bookings done during the offer period. Tickets booked during this period will be valid for travel from December 22nd onwards and guests can utilize the celebratory offer to avail substantial savings besides exploring exciting destinations with Jet Airways.

Speaking on the occasion, Raj Kumar Bhattacharya, Country Manager, Jet Airways said, “In ten years of operations, Jet Airways has flown over 2 million guests between Bangladesh and India.
