Bangladesh Brand Forum deeply mourns the untimely demise of a highly celebrated and impactful mind of the country. Entrepreneur Luna Shamsuddoha passed away today at the age of 53 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore, State Minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak confirmed. She was the Founder and Chairman of Dohatec New Media. With her at the helm, Dohatec sprawled into one of the leading IT companies of Bangladesh producing quality software solutions. She had also been the former Chairman and Director of Janata Bank Ltd. and Former Director of Agrani Bank Ltd. and SME Foundation, becoming the first woman chairperson of any state-owned bank.
Her contributions to the country and beyond were numerous, having been a member of Council Global Thought Leaders on Inclusive Growth, Global Advisory Council & Strategic Partner of Thinkthrough Consulting (TTC) India and also the founder president of Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT). For her contributions, she received the ‘Outstanding Woman in Business’ award and had been a trustee of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) and Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) Bangladesh.
