City Bank in association with Euromoney jointly organized a round-table discussion in City Bank head office in Dhaka on Thursday (28th January, 2016) on the country’s untapped economic potential. Euromoney, one of the world’s leading financial publications organize country specific talks in different countries across the globe and this is for the first time they held one in Bangladesh in association with City Bank.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith opened the discussion as Chief Guest and Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman attended as special guest. The other participants were Aziz Khan, Chairman, Summit Group; Aziz Al Kaiser, Vice-Chairman, Partex-Star Group; Wendy Jo Werner, Country Manager, IFC; Ahsan Mansur, Executive Director, Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh; Faisal Ahmed, Senior Economic Advisor, Bangladesh Bank and Sohail R. K. Hussain, MD & CEO, City Bank. The discussion was moderated by Elliot Wilson, Euromoney’s Senior Editor based in Geneva, Switzerland.
The round-table discussion touched upon the important contemporary economic issues like economic growth, power & energy, infrastructure, financial inclusion, foreign investment etc. The discussions will be published in the April issue of Euromoney global edition and will also be distributed in the upcoming Asia Development Bank annual meeting in Frankfurt, Germany.
