LIONS LIVE: CANNES’ FIRST VIRTUAL MEETUP FOR GLOBAL CREATIVE COMMUNITY

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the largest global event and gathering of the advertising and creative communication industry is held yearly at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. For the first time in nearly 70 years, in April the 2020 edition of the event had been canceled by the organizers due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the past two months, festival organizers reached out to industry professionals and content creators to develop Lions Live, a free virtual event running June 22-26, the original dates of the in-person festival.

Under the theme “Creativity Matters”, this online event will offer more than 40 hours of content including masterclasses, short films, talks from speakers confirmed for the original festival, networking opportunities and debates with industry leaders on topics related to the pandemic and industry diversity. The event will be live from our London studio by BBC journalist Tina Daheley and available to watch in magazine show format. The content is both live-streamed and available on-demand and will live on a custom Lions Live site for a few months after the event occurs.
