A workshop titled “Maintaining Quality in Superstores” for the Superstore sector of Bangladesh was held today at Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka. Sponsored by Shwapno, country’s superstore chain, the workshop was an initiative of Bangladesh Retail Forum.
Dr. Benazir Ahmed BPM (BAR), Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), graced the workshop as the chief guest.
Earlier in the month of Ramadan, mobile courts of different ministries of the Government held quality maintenance activities throughout the country. In terms of the matter, a delegation team of Shwapno, on behalf of the Superstore Chain Shop industry, met Dr. Benazir Ahmed BPM (BAR), honorable Director General of Bangladesh RAB Forces, and requested him to grace the workshop as Chief Guest.
The chief guest of the workshop, DR. Benazir Ahmed BPM (BAR), Director General of RAB shared his valuable thoughts in his speech. Sohel Tanvir Khan, Business Director, ACI Logistics Ltd. (Shwapno) also gave a special speech on the occasion. Mr. Shariful Islam, the convenor of Bangladesh Retail Forum, set welcome remarks on the occasion.
Magistrates of RAB presented thoughtful suggestions and insights during the workshop. In addition to the presentation of the magistrates, Dr. Tamzidul Islam (Ph.D), Consultant of Center for Service Quality Enhancement (CSQE), conducted an insight session about how the superstore activities are being conducted in the developed countries of the world. Besides, a panel discussion was held, having Ashraf Bin Taj, President, Marketing Society of Bangladesh as the moderator. Discussants for the panel were Sabbir Hassan Nasir, Executive Director, Shwapno; Shaheen Khan, CEO, Gemcon Food & Agriculture Ltd.; Md. Mahbub Kabir, Member (Additional Secretary), Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, Ministry of Food; Md. Gousul Azam, Deputy Secretary, Legal Officer & Executive Magistrate, RAB Headquarters, Dhaka; and Dr. Md Iqbal Rouf Mamun, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Dhaka.
Along with participants from the superstore industry, the workshop had representatives from Bangladesh Standard & Testing Institution (BSTI), Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, and many other government organizations. Bangladesh Brand Forum was the Organizer of the workshop.
