Superbrands Bangladesh 2025–26: Honouring Trust, Leadership, and the Power of Distinction

The evening of 20 September 2025 at Le Méridien Dhaka carried an atmosphere of composed anticipation. Corporate leaders, senior marketers, brand custodians, and industry thinkers gathered for a moment that arrives only once every two years—the unveiling of Superbrands Bangladesh 2025–26.
>
As the host for the evening, Superbrands Bangladesh brought together this community to honour 49 brands that have earned consumer confidence through consistency, credibility, and a track record of delivering real value. The ceremony was not only a celebration of recognition but also the formal reveal of the new edition’s cover—a symbolic introduction to the brands that will represent the highest standards of the country’s marketplace over the next cycle.

The gathering opened with reflections from Shariful Islam, Managing Director of Superbrands Bangladesh, who articulated the essence of the distinction with clarity and restraint. “A true Superbrand is a name people trust, respect, and take pride in. These brands earn confidence by keeping their promises and by standing apart through their values,” he said. In the context of the evening, the words offered a grounding perspective: recognition may be celebratory, but its roots are in behaviour, not in accolades; in delivery, not in declarations.

From this point, the evening gradually shifted from celebration to contemplation—inviting guests to consider what makes a brand worthy of such a title and how that meaning continues to evolve.

Understanding the Superbrand: What the Distinction Truly Represents

To understand the significance of the 2025–26 recognition, one must look beyond the award itself.
>
The Superbrands programme, founded in the UK in 1994, established itself as the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding by championing a simple principle: a Superbrand is one that stands apart through trust, distinction, and a combination of emotional and tangible advantages that consumers consciously or subconsciously value.

The definition remains consistent around the world. A Superbrand offers the finest reputation in its field and reflects quality, reliability, and clarity in its promise. Research supports its impact. A Nielsen study across 48 countries revealed that 74 percent of consumers are more likely to buy brands carrying the Superbrands logo, and 69 percent are more inclined to recommend them, validating the trust that the mark represents.

In Bangladesh’s context—where markets are competitive, consumer expectations rapidly changing, and brand narratives increasingly complex—the Superbrands distinction steps in as a marker of reassurance. It signals that a brand has endured scrutiny, earned recognition, and demonstrated relevance beyond seasonal trends.

A Global Legacy Anchored in Local Relevance

Superbrands’ journey now spans 90 countries, with nearly 45,221 brands recognised and over 645 publications documenting the stories of companies that shaped industries.
Bangladesh’s participation in this global narrative began a decade ago. The 2025–26 edition continues this legacy through the country’s fifth volume, positioning Bangladesh among markets that treat brand reputation not as a symbolic asset but a strategic one.

Against this backdrop, the 49 brands honoured this cycle represent not only category leadership but also the growing maturity of Bangladesh’s brand-building environment. As consumer sophistication rises, so does the bar for consistency, reliability, and purpose-driven identity. Superbrands, in this sense, acts as both a mirror and a benchmark—reflecting current strengths and setting expectations for the future.

Inside the 2025–26 Selection: A Process Rooted in Rigor

The selection of Superbrands Bangladesh 2025–26 followed a rigorous multi-stage evaluation carried out by a distinguished Brand Council.
>
Each brand was assessed and scored out of 20 across critical attributes such as brand heritage, category relevance, perceived quality, perceived performance, and top-of-mind awareness. Only the highest-scoring brands were invited to secure the status, and those fulfilling all requirements were formally recognised.

The Superbrands Council for this cycle comprised a diverse group of industry and academic leaders:

During the ceremony, Ashraf Bin Taj, Managing Director of International Distributions Company Bangladesh (Pvt) Ltd., elaborated on the evaluation process. He noted that the standards applied in Bangladesh are fully aligned with global benchmarks and that only brands demonstrating exceptional consistency, credibility, and relevance secure their place among the Superbrands. His explanation reinforced that the recognition is not celebratory by design—it is earned through discipline.

The Strategic Value of Being a Superbrand

For brands, Superbrands status serves a purpose far beyond the gala stage.
>
It offers a powerful endorsement grounded in independent evaluation, providing evidence of exceptional reputation to customers, industry stakeholders, investors, and employees. In a competitive marketplace, such validation becomes an asset that strengthens positioning and enhances the brand’s standing among peers.

The upcoming Superbrands Bangladesh publication adds another layer of value. Each participating brand is profiled through a detailed narrative of its history, heritage, and contemporary relevance. This documentation is read by senior professionals across advertising, marketing, public relations, retail, academia, and media. The book’s distribution spans corporate leaders, national advertisers, journalists, government and trade bodies, business schools, embassies, premium lounges, and strategic retail outlets—making it both a reference and a visibility platform.

For organisations, the endorsement also functions internally. Employees recognise that they are part of an institution acknowledged for excellence. Externally, suppliers, retailers, and partners gain confidence in their association. For investors, the recognition enhances clarity around brand value, especially as brands increasingly account for intangible assets in long-term strategy.

With a validity of two years, brands can integrate the Superbrands distinction thoughtfully across communication, stakeholder engagement, and brand-building efforts.

Bangladesh’s Brand Landscape: A Transformative Moment

The 2025–26 edition arrives at a time when Bangladesh’s brand environment is undergoing a fundamental shift.
Consumers are demanding more consistency, greater transparency, and a balance of emotional connection with practical relevance. The evolution of digital behaviour, rising media literacy, and increased competition across categories have reshaped the way brands must define and deliver value.

In this changing context, becoming a Superbrand carries layered meaning. It acknowledges not only category leadership but also a brand’s ability to navigate expectations, maintain clarity, and build trust across diverse consumer segments. For many companies, the distinction also marks a point of reflection—on how far they have come and how they intend to lead in an increasingly complex marketplace.

Honouring the 49 Brands: A New Class of Excellence

Every edition of Superbrands tells a story of its time.
The 49 brands honoured for 2025–26 represent industries as varied as consumer goods, services, finance, telecom, healthcare, and infrastructure. What connects them is not scale alone, but clarity of promise, continuity of performance, and an ability to remain relevant as consumer behaviour evolves.

Their inclusion shows the breadth of Bangladesh’s brand landscape and highlights the organisations that are shaping the country’s economic and cultural narrative. Each profile in the upcoming publication will offer an insight into how these brands were built, the values they uphold, and the ambitions they carry into the future.

The Publication Ahead: Documenting Leadership, Heritage and Direction

Beyond the recognition itself, the Superbrands Bangladesh 2025–26 book stands as a curated record of leadership.
It captures the journey of each honoured brand—its origins, challenges, milestones, and future orientation. As a resource, it bridges historical perspective with contemporary relevance, offering marketers, academicians, students, journalists, and corporate leaders a credible reference on brand-building in Bangladesh.

For BBF Monthly, featuring this story at this moment is timely. The recognition cycle marks a meaningful chapter for the country’s brand ecosystem, and the values represented by the Superbrands programme resonate strongly with Bangladesh’s ongoing journey toward strengthening brand governance, leadership, and consumer trust.

Why Superbrands Matter Now

As Bangladesh’s marketplace becomes more complex, the role of trust grows deeper and more structural.
Brands today must do more than compete—they must demonstrate reliability, uphold consistency, and navigate evolving consumer expectations with clarity. The Superbrands distinction acknowledges those that have already embraced these responsibilities.

The 2025–26 cohort, therefore, stands not only as a group of recognised leaders but as an indication of where the country’s brand landscape is heading. Their journeys reflect the interplay of heritage, innovation, and disciplined brand management. And as they carry the Superbrands mark over the next two years, they also carry the responsibility to continue earning the confidence that brought them here.
