Bangladesh YouthFest Held in Chittagong

Chittagong has been the most happening round of YouthFest. It was held in University of Chittagong, on 22nd March. Mr Wahid Malek, Managing Editor of the Daily Azadi, and Prof. Dr. Jahangir Alam,Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Chittagong inaugurated the ceremony.Mr Wahid Malek said in his speech, “This fest will help in expanding the knowledge horizon of the youth. Students will get the opportunity to prove themselves through the competition.” He hoped that participants from Chittagong round will also be the winner of the national round. Prof. Dr. Jahangir Alam also emphasized on the importance of knowledge sharing initiatives, in his speech.

Chittagong round was had Mr.Monjurul Hoque, Founder of Barcode Café; Safia Gazi Rahman, Founder & Principal, Sunshine Grammar School & College; Syed Tanvir Husain, Director, Center of Expertise, Grameenphone; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of Mastercard; Iqbal Chowdhury, CFO, Marico Bangladesh; Solaiman Shukhon, Head of Business, Aamra Smart Solutions; KSM Minhaj, Customer Development Director, Unilever Bangladesh; Tahseen Zohair Taherali, Director of BSRM; Soumendra S. Das, Marketing Director, GSK; Atika Haque, Director, Sanmar; Shafin Ahmed, Singer and Musician; Salman Muqtadir, CEO of Cinefekt Entertainment; Mashahed Simanta, and Ayman Sadiq as the speakers.

The houseful Lecture Gallery of the University said it all – the energy, the enthusiasm, the vibe among the audience, the youth of Chittagong. The facebook event page for Chittagong round was flooded with enthusiastic posts from the attendees. Who missed the program, shared their regret over facebook and those who were there, shared their photos, messages and experiences on the page. An attendee named Lokman posted, “The Lecture Session was really nice! Thanks to the concerned authority for arranging such a #‎Motivationalprogram. It’s really amazing! Special thanks to the speakers #‎Simantaand #‎Sulaiman for their nice & motivational speech!” When asked how the day went, Atiqur Rahaman Anik, an attendee commented, “Marvelous indeed! How lucky we’re in a single day we got lot of High Profile Speakers! Thank you very much #Brand_Forum_Bangladesh for giving us such wonderful program. I think all of us learnt even a single thing from every speaker. #Gala_Day.”

Seven winning teams from seven categories were – Impression (Transgender Issue), Research Group to Aid Child Development (RGACD), APECE Biomedical Research Group (APBRG), Constellation, Troy, Team crayons, Fin 9679.

Bangladesh YouthFest was officially launched by BBF on the 10th February, with the mission of ‘Inspiring the Nation’s Future’. YouthFest is a unique endeavor to inspire university students to prepare themselves for the global market. The event engaged students from seven divisions of the country.

The philosophy behind this fest is simple – students will get to learn from the experts and will be able to prove their talent in an idea based competition. Segmented into four parts, YouthFest comprises of Competition, Knowledge Sessions, Lecture Series, and Knowledge Hub.
