‘PREEMA DONNA’ LAUNCHED AT THE WESTIN DHAKA

‘Preema Donna – An Infinite Journey’, a book by country’s most progressive, prolific and prominent visual artist Nazia Andaleeb Preema, was launched in the capital in Partnership with Bangladesh Brand Forum. The exquisite book launch was attended by hundreds of art lovers and enthusiasts among which National Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman; who has also written the foreword for the book, Eminent Artist Ms. Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Former Managing Director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank Anis A. Khan, Famous architect Mustafa Khalid Palash, Ms. Nahar Khan, Director, Cosmos Books, and Managing Director & CEO of Bangladesh Brand Forum Shariful Islam were present.

The book is divided into five chapters: Conflict, Wonder, Courage, Vision, and Connection and is Published and produced by Cosmos Books. The book demonstrations evidence of Preema’s artistic journey of the last two decades. It also illustrates Preema’s brave approach of aesthetical vision that depicts her philosophy of context. The book was launched at the Grand Ballroom, The Westin Dhaka on the 21st December.

Nazia Andaleeb Preema is currently working as the Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum, President of Women in Leadership and Founder of Bangladesh Creative Forum. About the book, she asserts, “This publication is my inspiration to be more committed towards my intense journey of creativity. And I dedicate this book to the next generation of creative minds to proceed with their passion for art.”

Preema graduated from Dhaka University with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Painting. She is constantly expressing the representation of women in a metaphorical sense – whether traditional or digital – through her canvas in a poetic manner. This year, she represented Bangladesh on behalf of the Bangladesh Government at La Biennale di Venezia. She has been honored with various awards along with the BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) award in the Visual Arts category and Anannya award for being an outstanding woman in the creative field.
