Businesses should focus on ‘innovations’ in marketing for attracting new markets, said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun urging the industries to develop ‘skilled human capital’ for sustainable growth. He also emphasized on increasing ‘inter-personal relationship’ among marketing graduates and practitioners on this domain while inaugurating the second edition of Bangladesh Marketing Day at Dhaka University on Friday.
Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Prof Mijanur Rahman, Marketale Bangladesh Managing Director Shariful Islam Dulu, and Marketing Society of Bangladesh President Ashraf Bin Taj were also present at the inauguration at Teacher-Student Centre at the university in the capital.
Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar, Director, Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka presented a keynote on Branding Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Marketers’ Institute (BMI) organised this year’s Bangladesh Marketing Day with a vow to connect people in marketing domain including academicians, professionals and graduates to create a wide range of opportunities.
Minister Nurul Majid said there is no alternative of innovations to reach more consumers as the consumers’ behaviors have been changed in transformation of global marketing trend. “Businesses should empower their human capital on demand of digital age focusing on soft skills alongside product innovation to adopt with transformation of market,” he also urged the academicians to improve relationship among universities and industries to bridge the graduate to the career smoothly.
There were held different sessions focusing on the latest trends of marketing, marketing in digital age, art of consumer engagement, approach of retail and marketing for sustainability, according to organizers.
Earlier on Thursday, nationwide celebration began in collaborations with marketing department of all graduate schools across the country will observe the day with the theme – Consumer First.
Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Prof Mijanur Rahman said the day becomes a big occasion to celebrate the excellence of marketing learners.
“It’s a matter of joy that we organise the day for second consecutive term together with marketing department of educational institutes and corporate offices. Hope, the celebration will strengthens bondage among learners and practitioners in field of marketing,” added Prof Mijanur Rahman.
Organising committee Member Secretary Shariful Islam Dulu said there are 4.5 million peoples are working in this profession in different positions and contributing to the national economy.
“We want to connect all stakeholders in marketing arena across the country and sharking knowledge on professional soft skills though Marketer Institute Bangladesh,” Shariful explained vision of the professional institute.
It is to be mentioned, Marketers’ Institute Bangladesh is a newly formed national platform for marketing professionals, academics and students.
