Science & Innovation Fair for students of Bangladesh (SIFSB) 2016 Ends

The young creative talents of the country used the platform to display their innovative projects in the fair!

This educational fair was a day-long event held on 08 April, 2016 in Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School of Dhaka. SIFSB 2016 initiated by SCIFAIRBD which is affiliated with International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), provided an opportunity for the creative young innovators to represent Bangladesh in global Science and technology convention organized by global tech giant, “Intel‟.

IMG_7745This prestigious event experienced huge participation in terms of numbers where students from both private and government educational institutes who are between class 8 to class 12 were present to showcase their talent. With a welcome speech the official opening of the event occurred then it continued with presentations and other activities which were designed for students to evaluate their latent creativity. This grand event ended with the declaration of winners by the honourable judges. Prize giving ceremony will be held later.

Director of ScifairBD, Md. Saidur Rahman; Assistant Professor of East West University & COO Voicetel ICX, Mr. Mustafa M Hussain; Innovation Expert, Faruque Ahmed Jewel from A2i; Associate Professor from Department of Physics of Dhaka University, Dr. Syed Ishtiaque; Senior Manager of Infrastructure & System Management, ICDDR, Muhibbul Muktadir Tanim; Senior Teacher in Mathematics Department of Mastermind School, Md. Nadim were in the judge panel of the event for awarding the projects of the program.

‎One of the honourable judges of the event said, “This is an immense opportunity for the whole nation” The organizer team shared their experience regarding the entire competition where one of them said, “We would like more events like this to take place”.

The Champion team wIMG_7620as given a prestigious Certificate from global tech giant Intel; In addition, the team received 15,000 TK prize money and 2 years tuition fee as well; Prize money for the First Runners-up team was 10,000 TK as well as 1 year tuition fee and the Second-Runners up team were given a total prize money of 5,000 TK and 1 year tuition fee. In addition, the 10 top participants received certificates from SCIFAIRBD.  

Goldbeg Mobile was an integral part of the event as they represented the Platinum Sponsor. In addition, a major role in the event was being played by Partner agency AdClub. Circles bolstered the initiative as digital partner of the event. Besides, the PR partner of this event, Concito PR took the lead to spread the success story of SIFSB 2016 to mass people through the media.
